On February 14th 2017 The planning committee of Liverpool City Council granted planning permission to Redrow. They dismissed objections and petitions from over 2,500 local people.
A peaceful protest in the park by 300 local residents resulted in the council calling the police. Campaigners were labeled a “Screaming, howling, mob” by the deputy chair of the planning committee.
Help us take the council to court
The Save Harthill and Calderstones campaign have been receiving free legal advice from a local solicitor. And we have been advised that there may be several grounds for a Judicial Review against the council to overturn the decision.
Unfortunately a Judicial Review has to be launched within 6 weeks of the planning decision. This means documents must be filed in court by 28th March 2016.
We would need to raise £10,000 to fund the full legal action. But we need at least £1000 before 28th March to pay for initial consultations with barristers.
